Former Indian cricketer turned broadcaster Aakash Chopra, continuing the recent trend, put on the selector”s hat to name the all-time Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) XI.

Chopra made the choice on his Youtube channel, leaving out several superstars who have donned the jersey of RCB.

Despite not being able to win a single edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the RCB has one of the biggest fan-bases all over the world.

The former Delhi cricketer went ahead with the ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle along with RCB’s talismanic captain Virat Kohli. The two open the batting in Chopra”s all-time RCB XI.

Chopra appointed KL Rahul as the wicketkeeper, designating the flamboyant batsman at number three. Another iconic cricketer from RCB, AB de Villiers walks in at number four.

Then, Chopra chose Ross Taylor in the middle-order who entertained the crowd at Chinnaswamy for several seasons, donning the red-orange of the RCB. Further, Chopra added Robin Uthappa at six to bolster the batting order.

The pace bowling lineup in Chopra’s XI consists of Mitchell Starc, Zaheer Khan and R Vinay Kumar. The two spinners in the side are Anil Kumble and Yuzvendra Chahal. Chopra rued the fact that he could not pair Starc with Dale Steyn due to the four overseas player rule.

“I wanted to have Dale Steyn and Mitchell Starc both in my lineup. However, I could only field four overseas players. I tried my best to look for an Indian middle-order batsman who has done well for the RCB side, but I couldn’t find one. This is why I had to include Ross Taylor,” Chopra said.

Here is Aakash Chopra”s all-time RCB XI:

Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli (c), KL Rahul (wk), AB de Villiers, Ross Taylor, Robin Uthappa, Mitchell Starc, Anil Kumble, Yuzvendra Chahal, R Vinay Kumar, Zaheer Khan
