Australia’s limited-overs skipper, Aaron Finch was set to don the Royal Challengers Bangalore jersey in the thirteenth edition of the IPL. However, due to the indefinite postponement of the tournament, the feasibility of the league is still uncertain.

Meanwhile, Cricket Australia (CA) has been doing their best for the resumption of sports in the country. With the passage of time, the rate of COVID-19 outbreak has slowed down in Australia, opening doors for cricket to return back in the Kangaroo nation.

Recently, Finch, during an interaction, was asked to pick a combined ODI XI of players from India and Australia. The first name in Finch’s ODI XI was Virender Sehwag. Known for his explosive batting and fearless approach, Sehwag was one of the most lethal batsmen during his playing days.

Aaron Finch went with Ponting and Kohli at No.3 and No.4 respectively

Finch also added that he would love to watch Virender Sehwag and Adam Gilchrist bat together. Finch revealed that he wanted to go with Rohit Sharma but he would like to watch Gilchrist open with Sehwag. Following the Sehwag-Gilchrist pair, Finch went with Ponting at No.3 and Kohli at No.4.

“Sehwag is my number one pick. He was so dominant. As soon he was on, the game was over. I want to go with Rohit Sharma, his record is amazing but I want to watch Adam Gilchrist open with Virender Sehwag. I will go with Ricky Ponting at 3 and Virat Kohli at 4,” Finch told Sports Tak.

Hardik Pandya, Andrew Symonds, Brett Lee, Jasprit Bumrah and Glenn McGrath were the other prominent names in Finch’s India-Australia ODI XI.

Along with picking his team, Finch also opined on the international return of MS Dhoni. Speculations are rife about the former Indian skipper as he hasn’t braced the field since India’s semi-final loss against New Zealand in 2019 World Cup. Finch held back from making any comment on Dhoni’s future but said that he loves watching the Ranchi batsman bat.

“I am not sure, I honestly don’t know about what MS Dhoni has being doing but Jesus great player, I love watching him but I can’t answer that because I just don’t know,” said Finch.
