The wrath of coronavirus has spread havoc all across the globe and every country is facing the effects of the pandemic. The COVID-19 debacle has taken lives of 3.02 lakh individuals so far and more than 4 million people have tested positive. To tackle the situation, most governments have enforced a lockdown and people are being advised to stay indoors to battle the COVID-19 outbreak.

The sporting activity around the world has also been put to a halt as there’s a constant threat of players catching COVID-19 virus. A couple of days back, Bangladesh Cricket Board’s game development coach Ashiqur Rahman suffered from COVID -19. Furthermore, a second name has also popped up in the list as seasoned domestic campaigner Sajib Das has tested positive of coronavirus.

Talking about the COVID-19 situation in Bangladesh, the country has witnessed 298 deaths and more than 20,000 people have tested positive so far. In these trying times, citizens are trying their best to self-isolate and practice social distancing in order to curb the spread of the virus.

‘My wife and children have tested negative’: Sajib Das

Sajib captained Dhaka Premier League side Wari Club and Victoria Sporting Club during his playing days. He bid adieu to the sport in 2007 and is currently employed at the non-government organization. Sajid went with his family to his in-laws’ place, Faridpur, a week ago, and got infected with the novel coronavirus.

Sajib’s mother has been tested corona positive and right now they are in isolation with the help of the local government.

“I am very well now but I am worried more about my family. I am staying in isolation in the village with mother in one room,” Sajib told reporters as reported by CricFrenzy. “My wife and children have been tested negative,” he said.

Bangladesh Cricket Welfare Association secretary Debabrata Paul said that they are keeping an eye on this development and Sajib is very worried about his isolation. The BCB is trying to come up with a solution over the same.

“We are trying to help out Sajib Das through COAB secretary Amir Babu who is staying in Madaripur. Sajib is very worried about isolation and we are thinking what to do about this,” said Debabrata.
