While fans, as well as many former cricketers, have criticized Virat Kohli in the wake of RCB’s latest failure, former India opener Virender Sehwag has lent his support behind the under-fire captain. Describing Kohli as a good captain, Sehwag said that the RCB star is being let down by an unbalanced team.

Sehwag pointed to Kohli’s finest record as a captain for Team India as he said that RCB should try to build a good team instead of dismissing their captain. Kohli actually has a great record as captain in formats for Team India.

“A captain is only as good as his team. When Virat Kohli captains India, he is capable of producing results. He wins the match – ODI, T20 Test. But when he captains RCB, his team is unable to perform. “Sehwag told Cricbuzz.

He said, ‘It is very important for the captain to have a good team. Therefore, I believe that the management should not try to change their captain and think how they can improve this team. Everyone should be added to the team to ensure that their performance improves? ” He added.

Sehwag further said that criticizing the unsolicited batting order of RCB said that the team is dependent on its captain and team AB de Villiers. He said that for an orderly batting unit, RCB needs a good opener as well as a good opener. They, along with Kohli, AB de Villiers and Devdutt Padikkal, can help change the fortunes of RCB next year.

He said, ‘Every team has a batting order but RCB has never had this. It is only ABD and Virat who keep going up and down the order, ”said Sehwag.

After coming to Paddikkal, I think RCB need one more opener and a good lower order batsman. These five batsmen should be enough to win them the match. In the same way, they have to rely on their Indian fast bowlers. Everybody goes to the scavengers. It is not that Rabada, Morris and others have not been taken for a run. “
