Fisherman’s son Dilshan Madushanka is pleased with the ‘unexpected’ call of Sri Lankan training camp

Cricket has seen rich stories from many ragas and could be a new addition to Sri Lanka’s latest fast bowling sensation Dilshan Madushanka if he stays as expected. Though he is yet to receive a call-up from the Sri Lankan senior team, the youth are currently on the right track. He was recently included in the Sri Lankan training squad for the upcoming South Africa journey.

The 20-year-old left-arm medium pacer is one of the 22 players selected for training. Madushanka has faced many obstacles in her life but has overcome all of them till now. His father Sujith Krishnath is a fisherman. He did not pursue higher studies either to focus on sports. Madushanka has studied up to 11th standard (ordinary level) and now she is focusing only on making a career in sports.

He has played three first-class matches so far. His elder brothers are also associated with sports. Madushanka’s elder brother, Sudesh Nirmal, plays softball, while his younger brother, Nipun, is studying in the tenth grade. The high-class Pacers want to make their mark while joining the Sri Lankan team for training camp.

Before joining the camp, Dilshan Madushanka said that it was a surprise for him to join the Sri Lankan training squad. At the same time, he said that he was happy to receive the call and vowed to cement his place in the team with hard work. Madushanka will leave for Kandy on Wednesday to join the squad. Sri Lanka will train at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium from 13 to 22 November.

“It was incredible. To be frank, I didn’t expect it to happen so quickly. However, I am happy to be in the squad, ”Madushanka was quoted as saying by bdcrictime.

“After working hard and sincerely, I will try to establish my place in the team,” he said.

Interestingly, Dilshan was personally informed about the induction by the national head coach. Mickey arthur. Sri Lanka are yet to announce the squad for the tour and if Madushanka is to be impacted, he could be included in the squad.
