Indian skipper Virat Kohli is widely popular for his supreme consistency in the batting, and perhaps that’s the reason he is regarded as one of the greatest batsmen of all-time. Apart from slamming the bowlers, there is one more thing that Kohli is famous for, i.e. sledging.

The aggressive Delhi-born cricketer is often seen getting involved in verbal conversations on the field with the opposition players. Recently, Bangladeshi pacer Her Hossain said that Kohli shares a history of tongue-lashing with him right from U-19 days. Now, another Bangladeshi player has disclosed a story related to the run-machine.

Opening batsman Imrul Kayes has revealed why the current Indian captain stopped sledging him on the cricket field. Kayes stated that he had spent some time with Kohli in an Australian cricket academy in 2007 when they were young, but he was surprised when Kohli sledged him during a game in 2011.

“When we met in international cricket for the first time in 2011, Kohli sledged me. I was taken aback at. I had spent one whole month with him, but here he was sledging me,” Kayes said during a Facebook live session on Cricfrenzy.

Kayes then expressed that his opening partner Tamim Iqbal worked as a rescuer and gave it back to Kohli. The Meherpur-born said, since that incident, Kohli never sledged him.

“I did not tell him anything, but went and told Tamim. Tamim then gave it back to him, Tamim does these things well. He can be aggressive on the field,” the 33-year-old added.

“Kohli has never behaved badly with me after that. In the Fatullah Test, in the Test series last year, Kohli was abusing almost everyone from our team, but he didn’t say a word to me,” Kayes added further.
