India to tour Sri Lanka in August for 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is :Reports

After the New Zealand tour ,Team India has not played any kind of international cricket . The Men in Blue jersey were set to play a3-match ODI home series against South Africa.

But, BCCI postponed it amid the coronavirus outbreak. Now it has been reported that the BCCI has agreed to tour Sri Lanka for a bilateral series. And, this means the cricket fans definitely will soon get to watch their favourite players back on the field in action.

Team India was scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is against the Islanders starting in June.But due to pandemic, the series got postponed.

With not many cases in Sri Lanka, the SLCricket had earlier requested the Indian board (bcci) to send the team for a bilateral series.

But it is being told that the players will need around 8-12 weeks to reach match fitness.

As far as the series is concerned, an SLC official told that they will try to fill 30 to 40 percent venues as per their plan. But they will also have to follow all the instructions and guidelines issued by the government.

“Ideally, we would want to fill up 30 to 40 per cent of the venues. Spectators can maintain one-meter distance and watch games. However, the final call will be made by health officials. We will follow all their instructions,” he said as quoted by The Island.

SLC has got back to back good news in the ongoing week. Recently, they got a green signal from Pakistan for hosting Asia Cup 2020 that was scheduled to be played in Pakistan. Sri Lanka Cricket confirmed the development after the meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) via teleconference.

The good days for cricket lovers are coming back as cricket associations/boards have begun taking steps in a positive direction to get the cricketing action back !

Recently, West Indies team reached to England to play three-match Test series starting from July 8 before that they will undergo a 14day quarantine period. And, it is going to be a historic series that will be played under new rules and regulations issued by ICC due to COVID-19 pandemic.
