The Coronavirus pandemic has left the cricketers with no option but to stay at home. With the eased restrictions in the fifth phase of lockdown, some have returned to training individually. India cricketer Deepak Chahar is one of them and seems to have started bowling in his father’s academy with the latter having a close look at him and his rhythm.

However, on Wednesday, his sister Malti Chahar was also present in his training session and interestingly, both played cricket. Chahar family seems to be missing the Indian Premier League (IPL) a lot as the tournament might have ended by now if not for the pandemic to play the spoilsport. Deepak plays for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the cash-rich league and has been no less than a sensation for the franchise in last two seasons.

He has also starred for India especially in the T20I format picking a six-wicket haul against Bangladesh. Unfortunately, he got injured during the home series against the West Indies last year and has been on the sidelines since then. He was expected to get fit during the IPL and seems to have regained full fitness by now.

We miss IPL, says Malti Chahar captioning the video

Coming back to the brother-sister playing cricket together, Deepak Chahar was seen bowling at Malti with his father looking closely at his run-up. Surprisingly, the cricketer brought a little twist in the end hilariously delivering an under-arm ball at Malti and even then she edged it to the slips. She posted the video on her official Instagram handle and stated that they are missing the IPL a lot.

As far as Deepak Chahar’s international career is concerned, he has played 3 ODIs and 10 T20 Internationals so far and seems set to play for India in the near future as well. He has picked 2 and 17 wickets in respective formats and has impressed in his short career thus far. It will be interesting to see if he can continue in the same vein once the sport resumes even as he will also return from his injury.
