Chasing a simple target in Sharjah, the SRH openers took it completely on their shoulders. David warner The skipper’s cap was also well donned as he scored 85 * runs on 58 runs and Wriddhiman Saha played a brilliant innings of 58 * runs. MI bowlers struggled to take a single wicket in the match.

Rohit Sharma faced defeat as captain

Not the day we want to remember, perhaps our worst performance of the season. We wanted to try some things, it did not get in our way. We knew that dew was going to play a factor, but we did not play good cricket today. I’m glad to be back, it’s been a while. I’m looking forward to playing some more games here, let’s see what happens. This (hamstring) is fine, of course. We play in Wankhede where there is dew in the second innings. You have to return your skills, and believe that you can outsmart people. He played good shots in Powerplay and it helped him. This is a very fun format. It’s always nice to forget that this happened, and focus on the present. They (Delhi) are a good side, so it will be a good challenge to face them. You want to leave this performance as soon as possible. We will get back to the drawing board and find things out.

It feels good now after that terrible loss against KXIP. He gave some players a rest, but that put them at 150 on this ground. A lot of credit goes to the bowlers, Nadeem was brilliant. We were trying to be clinical right off the bat then, and it feels good. We try and put our best foot forward, and this stems from franchise owners. They are great people and it is like a family. We have a never dying attitude and that is how we approach each sport. We had some injuries, but they are here in spirit and we are doing it for them. Kane was ruled out last year due to injury and was replaced by Johnny, and was absolutely brilliant. But it happens in franchise cricket, we can play only four foreign players.

I don’t get a lot of games. I have a habit of not getting so many games. When you get a chance, you give your 100%. I have been working hard on carrom ball for the last two years. I felt it was the right time to use it. Round arm ball too. Sometimes it does not bounce if it lands on the leather. If it lands on the seam, it changes a lot. When you are contributing to the team, it increases you. If you look at our bowling unit, everyone is doing their job for the last few games. It is a small field but as you are slowing the pitch if you pitch in the right areas, it is hard to hit.
