Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma remains out of the playing eleven following a hamstring injury in a match against KXIP in Dubai. He came back against SRH and could not show great form with the bat. In fact, his form with the bat in IPL 2020 has not been very notable as he has failed to score big. In his absence, Caribbean Star Kirron Pollard Led the team with all the experience under his belt.

Now Mumbai has qualified for the playoffs and was the first team to do the second round this season. Delhi are placed second, and they will play in Qualifier 1 against Mumbai Indians. In the context of the match, Shikhar Dhawan, the one-off batsman from Delhi, feels that Sharma may be a bit out due to his injury and in this case Delhi may have a big hand in the upcoming game.

“Rohit is a very good player, and he has not played many matches, I am not sure of his touch, and that means we can definitely take advantage of it. My best wishes, but yes, as opponents, we can take advantage of this, to make sure and plan accordingly, ”Dhawan quoted Outlook as saying on the eve of the first qualifier.

I love playing in Australia: Shikhar Dhawan

Rohit has also not been selected by the BCCI for the upcoming mega series against Australia. Their longtime opening partner, Dhawan would like to retain his dominance when the two teams play horns with each other on Thursday in Dubai.

Dhawan has had a terrific IPL campaign as he has scored 525 runs in his bag with two centuries. He also said that when he plays against Australia he wants to give his best for the national team.

“Once you get good points, you want to take it to the next series. I like playing in it Australia. It is a great place to play cricket. The pitches are good and I enjoy bowling them. This will be a special series as the Indian team will be playing after a long time. I want to showcase my class, ”concluded Dhawan.
