Is KKR(Kolkata Knight Riders) Qualified for Playoffs 2021 ?

Playing against Rajasthan Royals in Sharjah last night, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) needed to not just pull off a victory but pull it off in style and that is exactly what they did to all but confirm an IPL 2021 playoff spot for themselves.

Technically, defending champions Mumbai Indians can qualify for the playoffs but it would require nothing less than a miracle for them to do so. Practically, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that KKR have clearly qualified for the playoffs.

Is Mumbai Indians (MI) Qualified for IPL Playoffs 2021 ?

No, Defending champions Mumbai Indians need nothing less than a miracle to qualify for the play-offs .

To start with, the scenario comes into play only and only if MI bat first on Friday in their final league match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Batting second will end their chances.

Mumbai Indians are all but out of the IPL 2021 playoffs qualification hopes. To still finish 4th, Rohit Sharma & Co. would need to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 171 runs.
