In the ongoing 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020), the three-time title holder, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Kings XI Punjab by nine wickets in a brilliant performance. Reaching the playoffs. The win, CSK’s third on the trophy, also ensures that MS Dhoni and his team will not be ranked last in the IPL points table.

Although the Super Kings did not qualify for the playoffs and were the first team to be eliminated from the IPL 2020, they discovered two match winners as Sam Curran and Ruturaj Gaikwad. From the start of the tournament, Karran was impressive with both bat and ball, but after CSK hit three fifties in the last three games, Ruturaj made headlines.

Talking about his campaign in the IPL 2020, CSK coach Stephen Fleming said that he is excited to rebuild the team with a mix of youngsters and will feel strong again in the next edition of T20 Sports. Fleming also seemed highly influenced by young Ruturaj.

We go back to the same team that was chosen by Srinivasan and CSK: Stephen Fleming

“This is a big challenge. It’s great fun and there’s a lot of responsibility around it, but when you like Ruturaj [Gaikwad] Come through and some players get a mix of young and old, ”Fleming said at the post-match press conference.

Further in the conversation, the former New Zealand captain said that the management was quick to use the same strategy that Srinivasan had applied to select a capable team for the franchise that had consistently released results for over a decade. Fleming understands that teams are now smarter, depending on their needs; However, this is a challenge he wants to be a part of.

“We go back to the same team that Mr. Srinivasan and CSK chose and how right they felt. We are trying to do the same, if we can play one cricket continuously for a decade, then you are doing something right. So, we are tapping into that and yes there is a big responsibility. Now teams and squads are much smarter and they really want what they want, so talent is at a premium. But, this is one of the challenges… good and exciting challenges to be involved with an IPL side, ”he said.
