Mashrafe Mortaza gets infected with COVID-19
Former Bangladesh Captain Mashrafe Mortza has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
His brother Morsalin Mortaza confirmed that his tests returned positive on Saturday and the cricketer has been in self isolation at his residence in Dhaka.
“He was feeling a bit uneasy 3-4 . We were worried when he got fever. So we got him tested on. The reports arrived today and he has tested positive for COVID-19. He is currently at his residence and taking rest”, Morsalin told.
He is not the first cricketer to be affected with this deadly virus. More than 5 cricketers has been affected with COVID-19. Pakistani Legend Shahid Afridi is the most famous player among the list.
Nafees Iqbal, former Bangladesh cricketer and elder brother of ODI captain Tamim Iqbal, has tested positive for coronavirus today.
Mortaza has led Bangladesh for some time. He represented Bangladesh in 220 ODIs, 36 Tests and 54 T20Is.
Mortaza has been active with his humanitarian efforts during the pandemic which has affected more than one lakh people in Bangladesh and more than 14000 deaths.
However, it has not been confirmed how the cricketer contracted the virus.
