Mujib ur Rehman admitted to hospital after testing positive for COVID-19

Afghanistan star Mujib ur Rehman has been admitted to a hospital in Queensland after testing positive for coronovirus. Spinner is recovering in the hospital right now. Mujib is in Australia for the upcoming season of the Big Bash League which is scheduled to begin on 10 December. Mujib is a part of the Brisbane Heat team.

Mujib landed in Australia last week and reported COVID-19 Symptoms during the start of his mandatory two-week stint at Hotel Quarantine this week. According to a statement released by the Brisbane Heat, the spinner will remain in the care of the Queensland Health Department until he is cleared to link up with the team for the tournament. Cricket Australia and the Queensland Cricket Medical staff have been in close consultation with the bowler during this period.

“We will work with the officials concerned to ensure the integrity of the competition and address them appropriately for the good of the player. He is a youth far away from home and we will make sure he is taken care of, ”said Queensland Cricket CEO Terry Swenson.

“The health and safety of our players, employees and the wider community is our top priority this season. Cricket Australia’s Big Bash League head Alastair Dobson said, “Both Mujib and Brisbane Heat have our full support and we will ensure that all protocols of the Queensland government are followed.”

Mujib ur Rehman tied the knot last month

It should be noted that Mujib tied the knot last month, before leaving for Australia. It was a fantastic affair as his companions and other guests were seen dancing at the wedding party. The likes of Mohammad Nabi and Gulbadin Naib were some of the prominent faces appearing in Mujib’s wedding party.

Earlier, he had pledged for his business Kings xi punjab In the IPL 2020 which ended on 10 November. The 19-year-old had a disappointing campaign as he did not get many chances in the playing eleven. He played just two matches in IPL 2020 as Kings XI Punjab preferred Ravi Bishnoi and Murugan Ashwin. In those two matches too, he failed to take any wicket and scored more than 10 runs per over.
