Amid COVID-19 outbreak, the cricketing series and tournaments have come to a standstill. They have either been postponed or cancelled. Now, the cricket associations are planning out the ways to bring the gentlemen’s game on track. There are chances that the matches will be played behind the closed doors. It will be a different experience for the players too. So Jofra Archer, the prolific England pacer, has come up with a funny but on-point suggestion.

The global pandemic has left a big question mark on human life. The governments have enforced lockdown in their country to protect each and every individual from the same. Moreover, they have also drawn guidelines for everyone to follow in order to protect themselves from the novel virus.

Jofra Archer says he will do anything to help cricket

It is well known that the cricket board and associations will have to come up with all the preventive measures going into the future as far as the life of the players is concerned. This might force them to organise games in the absence of spectators. In the same context, Jofra Archer suggested that the authorities can play crowd simulation in the matches to make it look realistic.

“We play music in cricket. Why can’t we play some crowd simulation? We can play the clapping, play the oohs and the aahs and just try to make it as realistic as possible,” Archer said on the BBC podcast ‘Stumped’. The 25-year-old also said that he can do anything to help cricket until it is not at the cost of life. “Anything that can help cricket but keep us as safe as possible I am all for. If everybody is not 100 per cent on board,” he added.

It is well known that ECB postponed the inaugural season of ‘The Hundred’ to 2021. Moreover, they have also suspended any type of international as well as domestic match across the country until July 1 amid COVID-19 outbreak. However, the board is now planning to play six home Tests against the West Indies and Pakistan and is awaiting the Government’s approval for the same.
