Red Bull Campus Cricket National Finals 2020: Day 3- Round-up

As the semi-final and final phase of Red Bull Campus cricket unfolds, players from various colleges are putting in their best. The third day of the national final matches saw eight teams playing horns with each other. After the end of the third day, the tournament got its four semifinal teams as DAV College Jalandhar, SS Jain Subodh College Jaipur, DAVV Indore and New LJ College Ahmedabad.

The first match of the third day was between New LJ College Ahmedabad and Loyola College Chennai. In a thoroughly high scoring competition, Chennai got the better of Chennai as they won the match by four wickets. Chasing a target of 199 runs, Ahmedabad managed the game in their favor thanks to a brilliant innings by Ripple Patel (63 of 20). He was voted Player of the Match for his master class.

The second match of the day took place between Jain University Bangalore and DAVV University Indore. After being selected to bat first, Indore put a score of 108/10 on the board, but he was quite adept at defending it. He ended Bangalore’s performance by 93 runs and won by 15 runs. Pawan Nirvani was named as the player of the match for his 39-run innings and took two wickets under the belt.

YBN College Ranchi and SS Jain Subodh College Jaipur played horns for the third program of the day. Yet in another high scoring event, Jaipur won the game by six wickets. Ranchi settled for a respectable target of 173 runs, but Jaipur became sufficiently effective to achieve the required work in only 18.4 overs. Sachin Kakodia was adjudged Player of the Match for his unbeaten innings of 63 off 26 balls.

In the final match of the day, DAV College Jalandhar and SOA University Bhubaneswar set the action against each other. It turned out to be a completely one-sided affair as Bhuvneshwar succumbed to just 70 runs. And, Jalandhar did not need to call their third batsman for victory as they won the match by 10 wickets. Jasvir Singh was named as the player of the match for his 42 of 23 stormy innings.
