Rohit Sharma’s dismissal from the limited-overs series against Australia has raised some eyebrows in the cricket fraternity. It was earlier reported that Rohit is not fit and hence he has been dropped from the team. However, he returned to action for his franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) looked perfectly fit for their final three matches of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) and flying to Sydney with the Indian team.

The opener suffered a hamstring tear in his left leg during the Mumbai Indians’ match against Kings XI Punjab in Dubai on 18 October. He missed the next four matches and was ruled out of the entire Australia series. But after watching him play in the last three MI games, the selectors decided to include him in the longest format of the game.

Rohit, while clarifying on not joining the ODI and T20I teams, said that BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said that Rohit is only 70% fit. Notably, Rohit returned to Mumbai after the IPL.

“Rohit is still 70 percent [fit], Why don’t you meet Rohit himself? That is why he is still not selected for ODIs and T20 Down Under. He has been included in the Test team, ”Ganguly said in an interview with The Week, when Sharma spoke about playing for his franchise after being out of the India touring party for Australia on fitness grounds. Did not even ask.

It is speculated that the opener will undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and fly to join the Indian team before the first Test in Adelaide starting on 17 December if he passes the fitness test. Huh.

People don’t understand injuries, that’s why they talk nonsense: Sourav Ganguly

Wicketkeeper-batsman other than Rohit Wriddhiman Saha Is also suffering from hamstring injury. Saha is also retained only in the Test squad and is not part of the limited overs format. However, unlike Rohit, Saha has traveled to Australia with the Indian team.

Speaking about the same, Ganguly said that there are proper coaches and practitioners who are closely monitoring the physical fitness of all the players. The former Indian captain further said that people do not understand how the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) works and that is why they talk nonsense.

“Who should know [about player injuries]The We know that Indian physio knows, NCA knows, ”Ganguly said. “I think people don’t know how BCCI works. The BCCI coaches, physio and Riddhi themselves know that they have two hamstring issues. People don’t understand injuries, that’s why they talk nonsense.

“Riddhi is traveling to Australia as she will be fit for the Test. He is not a part of shorter formats. For the entire duration of the IPL, Indian physicians and coaches were in Dubai. [India physio] Dr. Nitin Patel is managing and monitoring the injuries, ”concluded Sourav Ganguly.
