Cricket experts and former and current players have been busy picking all-time XIs over the last couple of months. A plethora of XIs have been made with different filters and the fans have also been giving their opinion over the same. Sreesanth, on Thursday, joined the trend and picked his all-time best XI in the ODIs naming Sourav Ganguly the captain of his team.

It is surprising that he picked Ganguly to lead the side as the pacer hasn’t played much cricket under him. Having said that, the Bengal Tiger was aggressive in his captaincy which might be the reason for Sreesanth appointing him the skipper. He went with Sachin Tendulkar as Ganguly’s opening partner with the West Indies’ stylish batsman Brian Lara following them.

Both Sachin and Lara are the greatest of all-time across ODIs and Tests having notched up more than 10,000 runs in both the formats. The Kerala pacer then picked the current India skipper Virat Kohli to bat at four which is deemed to be the crucial position, especially in the 50-over format.

Three strong finishers in Sreesanth’s XI

Sreesanth then picked AB de Villiers, Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni at five, six and seven respectively during a live Helo session. The trio has the ability to turn the game on its head and have done it successfully during their career. Interestingly, Jacques Kallis was named in his XI at number eight. He might have picked the all-rounder pre-dominantly for his bowling as Kallis batted at three for the most part of his career.

Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath and Allan Donald comprised of the 37-year-old’s best ODI XI of all-time. The three bowlers took a total of 946 wickets in the One-Day Internationals during their illustrious careers and were the best of their respective teams. Hilariously, Sreesanth picked himself as the 12th man as the backup of this legendary side.

Sreesanth’s all-time best ODI XI: Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly (C), Brian Lara, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni (WK), Jacques Kallis, Shane Warne, Allan Donald, Glenn McGrath.
