Virat Kohli, the top-order Indian batsman is currently one of the most consistent run-getters in international cricket. He is too often compared with Sachin Tendulkar by cricket pundits. Many even think that he is better than God of Cricket and will soon shatter all his batting records. Now, Irfan Pathan, the former Indian all-rounder has given his verdict over the same and feels that Kohli can match or break Sachin’s 100-century record if he plays long enough.

The 31-year-old has emerged as Indian run-machine and he has scored 70 centuries including ODIs and Tests. Kohli has already made several records on the back of his brilliant run-making spree. And, he is just six centuries away from matching former Indian opener’s record of scoring most centuries in ODI cricket. It looks like the Indian skipper will go past that milestone very soon once cricket action returns in the post coronavirus era.

Irfan Pathan feels Virat Kohli has it all to break Sachin Tendulkar’s record

Junior Pathan feels that Virat Kohli has it all what it takes to match Sachin’s record of scoring hundred centuries in international cricket. He also added to achieve that milestone, Delhiite will have to play as long as Master Blaster played.

“I wish but it is difficult. In ODI’s it is possible but 100 hundred is not easy. It depends on his fitness and longevity, if Virat can play as long as Sachin did then he might be able to achieve it,” Irfan said during a live chat on Sports Tak.

At the moment, Virat Kohli is enjoying his time back at home amid a nationwide lockdown. He was all set to lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. But, BCCI suspended the T20 tournament for an indefinite period due to the global pandemic. It’s been more than two months that international cricket action has taken place on the planet.

Now the things are improving with each passing day. And, Indian cricket board is looking for an appropriate window to organize a training camp for all the centrally contracted players. Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka cricketers have hit the ground for their 12-day Residential Training Camp in Colombo.
