Since his debut for India in 2017 against England, the young Rishabh Pant is considered the future of the Indian cricket team. Rishabh is always seen as an experienced wicketkeeper-batsman. M S Dhoni And this has resulted in work in the East for a large part of his short international career.

Despite a good start, the 23-year-old failed to meet expectations as both a wicketkeeper and a batsman. Thus the batsman is working hard to find a place for himself in the Indian team for the limited overs format. Speaking about the comparison between Rishabh Pant and Dhoni, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir said that the media should stop comparing the two players as it would put additional pressure on the youth.

Gambhir further said that MS is a different league player and Pant does not need another version of former captain to succeed. Instead, the southpaw should try to improve his game and be the best version of himself. The veteran also feels that just because Pant can hit sixes, it would be completely unfair to compare him with MS.

Gautam Gambhir says that Rishabh Pant has to improve a lot

“You have to stop comparing Rishabh Pant as he is a substitute for MS Dhoni. This is something that the media needs to do first. Because the more the media talks about it, the more it starts thinking on that front. He can never be MS Dhoni. He has to become Rishabh Pant.

“And, at the same time, MS Dhoni had a lot of range to come on the scene. And, Rishabh Pant, just because he can hit sixes, people started comparing him with MS Dhoni, ” Gautam Gambhir Told ESPNCricinfo. Talking about Rishabh Pant’s wicket-keeping skills, he said that the Delhi stalwart needs to work very hard to do justice to his task of donating gloves. Also, as bowlers are getting smarter, they try to bowl wide at the off-stump, which is their weak point.

“Rishabh Pant has a lot to improve on, especially from the point of view, but also from the batting point of view. I hope he makes a significant run today. But then if I look, the bowlers have got the sense, they have started bowling outside the off stump and they have struggled. That is why, first and foremost, people around him and the media need to stop comparing him with MS Dhoni, ”said Gamba.
